About the Role
You will lead workforce accounting through monthly and quarterly close, including payroll, compensation, benefits, commissions, contingent workers, and expenses. You will own stock-based compensation accounting, policies, disclosures, SOX controls, system integrations, automation, and the coaching and development of accountants.
Requirements
- Active CPA license or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Experience with payroll accounting and stock-based compensation under ASC 718
- Experience with equity roll-forwards and equity administration platforms
- Experience owning accounts through close in a public-company or pre-IPO environment
- Experience designing and operating SOX controls
- Experience writing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Experience managing or coaching accountants
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience
Responsibilities
- Own workforce accounts through month-end and quarter-end close
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and variance commentary
- Own stock-based compensation accounting, equity roll-forwards, and equity-platform reconciliations
- Own headcount and compensation reporting for close analytics and allocations
- Maintain audit-ready close documentation
- Write and maintain workforce accounting policies and procedures
- Review technical accounting memoranda and workforce-related disclosures
- Design and operate SOX controls for payroll, equity, and travel and expense
- Establish payroll, equity-data, and expense-platform completeness controls
- Shape ERP and workforce-platform integrations and data-integrity processes
- Automate repetitive rules-based accounting work
- Partner with People Operations, Payroll, Total Rewards, Tax, and Legal
- Extend workforce accounting processes to new entities and jurisdictions
- Coach, develop, hire, and onboard accountants
