About the Role
You will lead a configuration-platform engineering organization and shape how engineers safely ship, ramp, and roll back changes. You will strengthen guardrails, validation, rollout patterns, automated mitigation, and zero-downtime configuration delivery. You will guide distributed-systems design, high-availability operations, developer workflows, and technical strategy while growing engineers and technical leaders.
Requirements
- 5+ years managing backend, infrastructure, or platform teams of roughly 7 to 15 engineers
- Distributed systems and infrastructure background
- Experience with Java or Scala services, RPC, routing, configuration systems, Kubernetes microservices, and multi-cloud or multi-region deployments
- Hands-on engineering-management experience including design reviews and technical contribution
- Experience managing, growing, and retaining high-performing teams
- Experience partnering with senior engineers on design, roadmap, and execution
- Experience owning a high-availability platform with on-call and incident response
- Product thinking for developer UX, rollout policies, and developer workflows
- BS in Computer Science
Responsibilities
- Lead engineers who ship, ramp, and roll back configuration and feature changes
- Reduce customer-impacting incidents through guardrails, validation, and graduated rollout patterns
- Drive automated mitigation, health-mediated releases, auto-rollback, and zero-downtime configuration delivery
- Evolve configuration-platform UI, CLI, and agentic user experiences
- Grow engineers and technical leaders
- Lead design reviews and contribute technically
- Partner on roadmap and cross-team execution
- Own high-availability platform operations, on-call, incident response, and reliability improvements
