About the Role

You will shape the architecture and technical roadmap for billing and fees. You will build services for fee configuration, calculation, invoicing, automation and reconciliation; integrate financial systems; ensure accuracy and auditability; guide engineers; and own operational reliability and delivery quality.

Requirements

7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot.
Technical leadership experience.
Distributed production systems, microservices and event-driven architecture.
Kafka, SQS, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Redis.
Financial systems involving billing, invoicing, payments, ledger, fee calculation or reconciliation.
Domain-driven design and hexagonal architecture.
REST API design.
Financial data integrity, transactional consistency, idempotency and error recovery.
Mentoring and code review.
Grafana, Prometheus and Micrometer.
CI/CD, infrastructure as code and automated testing.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the architecture, technical strategy and engineering roadmap for billing services.
Architect and build fee configuration, calculation, invoicing, billing-adjustment and reconciliation services.
Automate billing workflows and replace manual processes.
Design data pipelines and integrations with Snowflake, Salesforce, Ledger and financial services.
Establish patterns for financial correctness, traceability, reconciliation and audit trails.
Lead technical design, architecture reviews and service design.
Design, build and review production code.
Mentor engineers and resolve complex technical challenges.
Partner with product, finance, commercial and engineering domains.
Establish standards for observability, monitoring, performance and incident response.
Set expectations for testing, CI/CD, documentation and technical-debt management.
