About the Role
You will design and scale the operational infrastructure for a global legal department. You will assess the current state, define a target operating model, and build processes and technology for legal, compliance, and policy functions. You will manage legal spend, systems, vendors, planning, dashboards, and programs that support daily legal operations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of legal operations experience.
- Proven record of building or significantly transforming a legal operations function.
- Experience with AI, automation, or data-driven transformation initiatives in a legal department.
- Strong data and analytics skills.
- Experience managing outside counsel relationships.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Review, modify, and enforce billing guidelines.
- Manage billing and drive cost rigor across external legal spend.
- Audit legal technology tools and develop a multi-year technology roadmap.
- Lead automation, AI, and data-driven workflow initiatives.
- Support annual planning, including budget and headcount.
- Build a legal operations dashboard.
- Design, implement, and manage legal systems, intake processes, templates, playbooks, and knowledge management.
- Manage external vendors and consultants.
- Organize legal team programs and events, including all-hands meetings, onboarding, and onsites.
