About the Role
You will advise global stakeholders on financial-services, payments, outsourcing, privacy, intellectual-property, employment, financial-crime, dispute, litigation, and corporate-governance matters. You will negotiate commercial agreements, review marketing materials, assess legal risks for products and partnerships, conduct legal research, and support legal operations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer in-house, at a top law firm, or at a government agency
- Familiarity with UK and EU financial-services laws and regulations, including payments
- Experience negotiating and drafting customer, partner, supplier, and payment-services agreements
- Experience with intra-group outsourcing and corporate-law matters
- Experience advising on product development at fast-moving technology companies
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency and fintech legal frameworks, or interest in learning blockchain technology
- Verbal, interpersonal, and stakeholder communication skills
Responsibilities
- Advise global teams on financial services, payments, outsourcing, data privacy, intellectual property, employment, financial crime, disputes, litigation, and corporate governance
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, outsourcing, SaaS, and complex transaction agreements
- Review marketing materials for legal and regulatory compliance, intellectual-property protection, disclosures, and risk mitigation
- Assess legal risks and recommend legal solutions
- Support global business-as-usual activities and legal operations
- Research laws and regulations covering cryptocurrency, payments, and related areas
- Anticipate legal and commercial risks and advise the business on preparation
