About the Role
Work closely with the General Counsel to navigate legal and regulatory challenges, develop internal processes, manage contracts and documentation, oversee corporate affairs and token pool strategy, monitor regulatory developments, conduct legal research, and support policy responses.
Requirements
- JD, LLB, or equivalent with 5+ years of UK or US qualified legal experience.
- Experience in a global law firm or substantial in-house legal role, preferably in crypto, technology, or fintech.
- Strong knowledge of web3 regulatory and legal frameworks, financial market regulations, securities laws, intellectual property, and open-source development law.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and independent working skills.
- Deep understanding of or passion for crypto and privacy.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate varied legal contracts, including code audit review and advisor engagement agreements.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for legal and regulatory compliance.
- Build internal contract templates and manage the legal documentation database.
- Advise cross-functional teams on legal matters across strategy, product, finance, partnerships, corporate affairs, compliance, IP, and negotiations.
- Manage corporate affairs, board processes, resolutions, minutes, and filings.
- Manage the legal aspects of the company's share option and token pool strategy.
- Monitor regulatory developments and conduct legal research and analysis.
- Draft regulatory consultation responses to help shape policy.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, policy groups, and the broader Aztec ecosystem.
