About the Role
You will own electrical-system architecture and design for robotics products. You will select and integrate components, create schematics and harness designs, document design decisions, support customer installations, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate on testing, manufacturing, and hardware integration.
Requirements
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 10 or more years of related work experience, including taking a product from conception to volume manufacturing
- Experience with motors, servo drivers, sensors, communication protocols, robot arms, and controllers
- Experience with lab test instruments including multimeters, oscilloscopes, DC loads, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
- Experience with analog circuits, digital logic, high-speed signals, filtering, and high-voltage circuits
- Experience using eCAD tools for electrical-system and schematic design
- Experience with hardware product certification processes, compliance practices, and standards including FCC, NFPA 79, UL, CE, and IEC
- Experience troubleshooting control systems, PCBAs, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with hardware product lifecycle stages and PLM tools and processes
- Familiarity with PLM systems such as Arena, Agile, or Teamcenter
- Experience working with offshore subcontractors, vendors, and global contract manufacturers
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Own electrical-system architecture and design for robotic automation products
- Select and integrate electrical components
- Design for signal integrity, noise reduction, and grounding
- Create and review electrical schematics
- Create wiring configurations and harness designs
- Write and maintain design documentation
- Support initial product installations, troubleshooting, and training at customer facilities
- Collaborate on electrical-module, PCBA, and harness integration
- Develop and execute electrical-system test plans
- Support manufacturing assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- Develop next-generation hardware components with design partners or ODMs
