About the Role
You will negotiate complex commercial and technology agreements across APJ markets, manage strategic cross-border transactions, and provide practical, business-focused legal advice. You will develop regional contracting templates and playbooks, coordinate with outside counsel, assess legal risk, and train contract managers and Sales colleagues on regional contracting practices.
Requirements
- Hold a J.D. or equivalent legal credential and active bar membership or license in a relevant jurisdiction
- Have experience in commercial and technology transactions across APJ markets
- Be skilled at negotiating complex agreements across multiple APJ jurisdictions
- Have familiarity with Japan contracting practices
- Be comfortable handling cross-border transactions and coordinating with outside counsel
- Identify legal risk, explain tradeoffs, and provide business-focused guidance
- Have experience creating or improving contract templates, playbooks, and processes
- Have working proficiency in an APJ language such as Japanese, if applicable
Responsibilities
- Negotiate complex commercial and technology agreements across APJ markets
- Manage strategic and high-priority transactions across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner with Sales leadership, internal stakeholders, and external counterparties to advance deals
- Navigate country-specific contracting norms, approval paths, and drafting requirements across APJ markets
- Advise on cross-border transaction structures and coordinate with outside counsel
- Assess contractual risk and provide practical recommendations, escalation paths, and alternative terms
- Develop and maintain APJ-focused templates, playbooks, policies, and supporting documentation
- Train contract managers and regional Sales team members on contracting practices and legal developments
