About the Role

You will design, build, ship, and operate services for inventory, exposure, hedge decisions, venue routing, and PnL. You will integrate external venues, design resilient recovery paths, instrument production systems, mentor engineers, work with trading and finance stakeholders, and support on-call operations.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of production backend systems experience
  • Trading, exchange, or brokerage experience on a live trade, order, or risk path
  • Knowledge of system design, data modelling, API design, and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and low-level design patterns
  • Experience with observability, debugging, performance tuning, and incident response
  • Ability to reconcile positions, cost basis, and PnL

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate services for inventory, exposure, hedge decisions, venue routing, and PnL calculation
  • Own features from scoping and technical design through rollout and operational health
  • Integrate external venues and liquidity providers
  • Build smart routing strategies resilient to venue degradation
  • Instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerting
  • Design retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and safe recovery paths
  • Review code, provide design feedback, and mentor L1 and L2 engineers
  • Participate in on-call and turn post-mortems into durable fixes
  • Work with Trading, treasury, and finance on exposure, risk, and net revenue
