About the Role
You will develop, benchmark, and apply workflows that assess base-editor specificity, off-target activity, and genomic integrity. You will design experiments, prepare and interpret sequencing datasets, build scalable processes, communicate results, collaborate across scientific functions, and mentor colleagues.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field with 2-4 years of industry experience in genome-editing specificity and genomic-safety assessment
- Expertise with CRISPR-based genome editing systems and base editors
- Experience with NGS-based genome-editing analysis workflows
- Experience in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, reagent delivery, NGS library preparation, and quantitative editing analysis
- Experience interpreting sequencing datasets with bioinformatics or computational biology teams
- Experience with high-throughput or semi-automated workflows and assay qualification
- Ongoing United States work authorization without employer sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Build and lead base-editor specificity assessment workflows
- Develop, optimize, benchmark, and apply methods for editing-specificity and genomic-integrity assessment
- Design and execute off-target discovery and validation studies
- Generate datasets to guide editor design, candidate selection, and program strategy
- Establish reproducible and scalable experimental processes and analysis frameworks
- Present experimental strategy, results, risks, and milestones
- Mentor junior team members and peers
