About the Role
You will develop molecular technologies for monitoring and manipulating cells in living animals. You will conduct molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, transfection, viral vector, and in vivo experiments; analyze and present data; maintain lab records; and help manage supplies, inventory, and equipment.
Requirements
- BS/MS or equivalent professional experience in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a similar field
- 2+ years of relevant academic or industry experience, including independent undergraduate lab work
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, qPCR, or plasmid preparation
- Proficiency with mammalian cell culture and transfections
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Minimum two-year commitment
Responsibilities
- Use molecular biology techniques including cloning, Gibson assembly, DNA/RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, PCR, qPCR, and NGS library preparation
- Produce and characterize viral vectors for in vivo delivery
- Conduct tissue culture, transfection, microscopy, and flow cytometry experiments
- Conduct cell culture, in vivo experiments, and molecular biology assays
- Assist with research planning, execution, analysis, troubleshooting, and data interpretation
- Analyze and present data at internal meetings and seminars
- Maintain an organized and detailed lab notebook
- Manage laboratory supplies, inventory, and equipment
