About the Role
You will help establish a platform innovation lab and build a screening platform for novel gene-editing tools. You will design, build, and test protein enzymes; develop scalable cloning workflows; quantify editing outcomes; optimize leads in primary cells and cell lines; and establish laboratory documentation and SOPs.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant life-sciences field or an MSc with equivalent hands-on laboratory experience
- Experience with gene editing, NGS assay development, protein engineering, and cell therapy
- Experience with high-throughput cloning and DNA construct production for cellular screening
- Experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection, and cell-line generation
- Knowledge of emerging gene-editing technologies and on- and off-target analytics
- Expertise in DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, ddPCR, NGS library preparation, and quality control
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Contribute to design, build, and test cycles for novel protein enzymes and gene-editing tools
- Build and screen plasmid libraries
- Develop scalable cloning workflows
- Quantify editing outcomes using ddPCR, qPCR, flow cytometry, and NGS
- Optimize hits for activity and specificity in human primary cells and cell lines
- Establish strong documentation practices and laboratory SOPs
