About the Role
You own end-to-end revenue recognition for Gusto Retirement, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, apply ASC 606 to complex arrangements, build automation with AI tools and Python or SQL, improve close processes, support audits, and partner with operations, finance, engineering, and data teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- 3+ years of revenue accounting experience
- ASC 606 knowledge
- SaaS, subscription, or fee-based revenue experience
- Automation experience
- Advanced Excel
- Python or SQL preferred
- NetSuite or revenue subledger experience preferred
- Big 4 or public accounting background preferred
Responsibilities
- Own revenue recognition for the Gusto Retirement segment
- Prepare monthly journal entries and subledger reconciliations
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Apply ASC 606 guidance to complex arrangements
- Build automated solutions with AI tools, Python, SQL, or Excel scripting
- Implement revenue close process improvements
- Partner with auditors during annual audits
- Collaborate with operations, FP&A, engineering, and data teams
