About the Role
You will manage approximately eight technicians, assign and prioritize work, approve hours and PTO, and provide performance feedback. You will ensure builds meet schedule and quality standards, coach technicians, support robotic-system assembly and testing, maintain documentation and the workshop, and enforce safety procedures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience
- Prior experience leading or mentoring technicians
- Ability to interpret schematics and CAD drawings
- Ability to independently assemble complex electromechanical systems
- Availability to work 5 days per week from the San Leandro, California headquarters
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of approximately eight technicians
- Approve hours and PTO, assign work, and provide regular feedback
- Own build execution, final inspection, and completed-system sign-off
- Coach and onboard technicians
- Support assembly, testing, and support of new robotic systems
- Develop and maintain assembly instructions and standard operating procedures
- Maintain and organize the workshop and improve build processes
- Enforce safety procedures
