About the Role

Sands Capital Management seeks a Research Analyst in Arlington, Virginia to evaluate emerging-market public equity opportunities, develop investment recommendations, build financial models, conduct company and industry research, and support portfolio and client-service activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Management, Economics, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in research, investment analysis, equity research, asset management, or a related role.
  • Four years of fundamental investment research experience covering global companies.
  • Four years of emerging markets experience.
  • Four years of equity research and global equity research experience.
  • Experience communicating research findings verbally and in writing, including PowerPoint, email, reports, and FactSet data entry.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.
  • Up to 40% domestic and international travel.
  • Must live within commuting distance of the Arlington, Virginia office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop investment insights and long-term recommendations.
  • Screen investment ideas and conduct industry landscaping in emerging markets.
  • Analyze companies, business models, growth drivers, competitive advantages, financial strength, and management execution.
  • Build complex financial models and draft investment case summaries.
  • Conduct research through analyst and management meetings, industry interviews, conferences, facility visits, journals, and financial filings.
  • Monitor existing investments, industry trends, company results, management touchpoints, and competitive dynamics.
  • Collect and track company, industry, and portfolio data.
  • Participate in weekly Investment Team and Strategy Team meetings.
  • Support select management, client service, and business development efforts.
