About the Role
You will own attribution of DPRK and China-related crypto activity, map illicit networks on-chain, respond to sanctions events, produce finished intelligence, represent the organization as an external expert, direct collection priorities, translate threat typologies into detection guidance, build analytical automation with AI, and mentor analysts and partners.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in DPRK and/or China crypto operations and illicit finance
- Experience tracing DPRK or China-related targets on-chain
- Background in national security, threat finance, intelligence, sanctions, or investigations
- Strong understanding of DPRK and Chinese illicit-finance ecosystems
- 5+ years of relevant analytic, intelligence, or threat-finance experience for a Senior hire
- Blockchain forensics experience strongly preferred
- Mandarin and/or Korean language ability is a significant plus
- Experience with OFAC sanctions or designations is beneficial
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience building automation to scale analysis
Responsibilities
- Own DPRK and China attribution end to end
- Lead attribution responses to DPRK- and China-related sanctions events
- Trace illicit funds through mixers, bridges, swaps, brokers, and off-ramps
- Produce advisory notes, briefings, and research publications
- Represent Chainalysis at conferences, panels, press engagements, and partner briefings
- Set collection priorities for DPRK and China intelligence
- Translate threat typologies into product and customer detection guidance
- Design and tune AI automation for analysis
- Mentor analysts and collaborate with data science and engineering
