About the Role

You will lead licensing processes, including potential MiFID license extensions and a standalone MiCA license. You will work directly with regulators and external counsel, manage EU/EEA passporting, and ensure compliant cross-border operations. You will draft and update procedures, maintain registers, audit counterparties, file regulatory reports, and support legal work on products, documentation, corporate matters, litigation, and commercial agreements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a law university or business school, ideally with a degree in banking and financial law
  • At least 4 years of experience in a fintech, banking or financial institution legal department, or a law firm's financial regulation department
  • Proven experience engaging French and/or other EU financial regulators on license applications
  • Expert knowledge of MiFID/MiFIR, MiCA, and anti-money-laundering regulation
  • Native-level French with excellent written skills and professional English proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Lead MiFID and MiCA license application processes
  • Act as the main point of contact for regulators and external counsel
  • Manage EU/EEA passporting notifications and liaise with host-country regulatory authorities
  • Ensure legal compliance in countries where activities are passported
  • Draft and update operational procedures
  • Maintain registers, audit counterparties, and file regulatory reports
  • Support legal analysis for new products and services, legal documentation, corporate law, litigation, and commercial agreements
