CCTI is an internal center of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. It combines research, experimentation, and interdisciplinary study to develop technology, governance, and policy responses to cyber and emerging-technology threats. About the Role
You will manage and grow a Chicago- and Midwest-based portfolio of major donors and prospects. You will execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies; prepare donor materials and proposals; coordinate donor meetings and events; and travel regularly throughout the Midwest and periodically to Washington, DC.
Requirements
- Have 5–8 years of professional fundraising or relevant relationship-management experience.
- Have experience supporting or securing five- and six-figure gifts.
- Demonstrate ability to manage relationships and advance donor engagement.
- Have interest in foreign policy, national security, and geopolitical issues.
- Have strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to travel regularly within the Midwest and periodically to Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospects across Chicago and the Midwest.
- Execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Work toward annual revenue goals through outreach, relationship management, and pipeline development.
- Serve as a primary contact for assigned donors and prospects.
- Coordinate donor meetings and prepare donor briefings, background materials, and follow-up communications.
- Support proposal development and donor strategy execution.
- Represent the organization at donor programs, briefings, and events.
- Collaborate on donor tracking, proposals, stewardship, and development practices.
- Travel regularly within the Midwest and periodically to Washington, DC.
