About the Role
You will oversee schedules, change orders, documentation, cost controls, and reporting for active construction projects. You will validate contractor submissions, negotiate changes, manage project records, escalate risks, and improve controls standards across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of project controls or construction management experience on large-scale, complex programs
- Mission-critical or data center experience
- Owner-side schedule management experience, including scheduling-consultant oversight and GC schedule review
- Hands-on knowledge of CPM scheduling and Primavera P6
- Experience owning, verifying, and negotiating change orders with general contractors
- Knowledge of construction contracts and GMP structures, including AIA A133/A201 or similar
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage controls across concurrent projects
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to data center sites
Responsibilities
- Manage third-party scheduling consultants and set expectations for quality, cadence, and reporting
- Review and validate general-contractor schedules, logic, durations, critical paths, float, and sequencing
- Own schedule health reporting and escalate emerging issues
- Own the change-order process from intake through resolution
- Evaluate change orders for scope, pricing, quantities, labor, markups, backup, and schedule impact
- Negotiate change orders with general contractors
- Represent the owner in weekly change and progress meetings
- Maintain an auditable change-order log reconciled to the project budget and GMP
- Align field and general-contractor information with Finance's cost reporting
- Control RFIs, submittals, change documentation, meeting records, and contractual correspondence
- Improve project-controls standards, templates, reporting, and governance
