About the Role

As a Principal Solutions Engineer, you will be the senior technical advisor to DFNS's APAC customers. You will guide banks, exchanges, custodians, and fintechs through onboarding and integration, designing secure and scalable deployment paths that connect legacy and modern systems. You will deliver hands-on troubleshooting, create technical proposals and demos, and support RFP and procurement processes. You will work closely with sales, engineering, security, and product teams to shape integrations, maintain documentation and developer guides, and turn customer feedback into better product experiences. You will also represent the company at conferences and workshops across the region.

Requirements

• 10+ years in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or enterprise integration roles, ideally in fintech, blockchain, and/or enterprise software
• Demonstrated track record helping institutions deploy mission-critical systems in production
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to self-start, champion new ideas, and execute end-to-end
• Strong in TypeScript or similar languages with proven API experience including REST
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms with AWS essential and GCP, Azure, IBM, and Thales a plus, plus microservices and serverless architectures
• Solid understanding of enterprise security frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS, and familiarity with APAC regulatory regimes including MAS, HKMA, JFSA, and VARA
• Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues and delivering under pressure across multiple client engagements
• Strong documentation, presentation, and demo skills, with ability to bridge technical and business conversations at the executive level
• Knowledge of blockchain, custody, and financial workflows strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of custody technology such as Multi-Party Computation and Hardware Security Modules
• Understanding of regional regulatory requirements and experience with offline signing solutions are a plus
• Experience operating across multiple APAC markets and time zones
• Pragmatic approach to balancing speed, security, and business priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fluent in English; Mandarin, Japanese, and/or Korean are a strong plus
• AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical face of DFNS in APAC, advising clients from first technical conversation through long-term production deployment
• Guide financial institutions and fintechs through seamless onboarding and integration
• Build secure, scalable deployment pathways that bridge legacy and modern systems
• Provide hands-on support by troubleshooting, fixing, and building solutions alongside client teams
• Collaborate with sales on technical proposals, demos, RFP responses, and enterprise procurement processes specific to APAC markets
• Partner with the security team to ensure every integration meets security, privacy, and compliance standards, including local APAC regulatory requirements
• Maintain and improve technical documentation and developer guides for APAC-based developers
• Gather client feedback and translate insights into product and API improvements as the regional voice of the customer
• Represent DFNS at conferences, workshops, hackathons, and meetings in the region
• Develop playbooks and reusable integration patterns that scale APAC delivery
