About the Role
You will lead the development of distributed systems that schedule, orchestrate, and execute evaluations for frontier model training. You will manage compute allocation, throughput, cost, reliability, reproducibility, and reporting, while contributing directly to engineering work and coaching engineers.
Requirements
- Lead large-scale distributed-systems projects end to end
- Have at least 1 year of engineering-management or tech-lead-with-reports experience
- Use Python and Rust
- Build high-throughput, fault-tolerant systems on accelerator fleets
- Understand measurement quality
- Communicate research requirements through infrastructure solutions
Responsibilities
- Lead development of distributed systems for scheduling, orchestrating, and executing evaluations
- Own evaluation throughput, compute allocation, queueing, caching, and cost
- Build and scale evaluation harnesses for researchers
- Ensure determinism, reproducibility, and uncertainty quantification for evaluation results
- Deliver evaluation signals to decision-making dashboards and reviews
- Manage, prioritize work for, and coach engineers
