About the Role
You develop and execute PR strategies in Japan, drive media coverage, manage reputation and messaging, build media relationships, direct the local PR agency, support social media, and amplify events, product launches, and brand campaigns.
Requirements
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in PR or communications
- Storytelling and editing skills
- Experience writing and reviewing copy for different audiences
- Experience in high-tech branding for business audiences
- Project management skills
- Ability to measure and report on PR effectiveness
- Excellent command of Japanese
- Business-level English communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 20%+
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute in-market PR strategies and programs
- Drive media coverage
- Craft messaging and local storylines with cross-functional stakeholders
- Ensure consistent messaging and positive brand positioning across Japan’s external communications channels
- Generate favorable market opinion and media attention
- Coordinate content and messaging with global and regional communications teams
- Manage key media relationships in Japan
- Direct the local PR agency partner
- Co-manage social media presence in Japanese portals
- Establish a social media calendar
- Amplify Japan events, product launches, and brand campaigns
