About the Role
The Fuels Technician operates and maintains mobile equipment, material handling systems, and ash conditioning equipment; performs fueling, site maintenance, environmental compliance, housekeeping, and related plant support duties.
Requirements
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic mathematics; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Obtain MSHA certification; training is provided.
- Operate heavy equipment and perform basic fueling and maintenance functions.
- Use hand tools, portable electric and pneumatic tools, and rigging equipment such as winches, hoists, and slings.
- Work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and periodic on-call assignments.
- Work on feet for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Participate in the Fitness for Duty program, including physical examination and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Operate bulldozers, front-end loaders, excavators, tractors, water trucks, and utility trucks.
- Start, stop, regulate, control, evaluate, and maintain material handling and ash conditioning equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and supply the plant with required quality fuel.
- Perform building, grounds, fuel yard, road, and site maintenance.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned areas.
- Assist with dust, erosion, sedimentation, and water treatment control.
- Complete required fuel training within one year.
