About the Role
You will lead permitting and land-use entitlement for energy facilities. You will develop permitting strategies, manage consultants, budgets, schedules, technical studies, agency engagement, and permit documentation. You will identify risks, guide project handoffs, and support compliance during construction and operations.
Requirements
- 4-8 years of progressively responsible experience in permitting, environmental planning, or project development
- Experience with state and federal air permitting for combustion sources
- Working knowledge of natural gas generation technologies and permitting considerations
- Experience supporting or obtaining industrial NPDES or equivalent wastewater discharge permits
- Knowledge of land use, siting, USACE, USFWS, state environmental approvals, and permitting requirements
- Experience managing environmental consultants, technical studies, budgets, schedules, and permit packages
- Ability to travel to project sites, agency meetings, and company offices
- Microsoft 365 and project-management tool proficiency
Responsibilities
- Lead permitting and land-use entitlement for energy facilities
- Develop and execute project-specific permitting strategies, budgets, and schedules
- Lead environmental due diligence and fatal-flaw screening
- Direct air permitting strategy and application development
- Lead wastewater and stormwater permitting
- Manage environmental studies, technical consultants, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies throughout permitting processes
- Maintain permit registers, decision logs, risk summaries, and status reporting
- Provide compliance requirements to execution teams and support construction and operations
- Mentor permitting team members
