About the Role
You will provide mechanical engineering and design oversight for data-center cooling, piping, controls, and utility interfaces. You will support planning, construction, commissioning, and turnover; review design and contractor documents; coordinate stakeholders; and resolve design and construction issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
- At least five years of design experience
- Experience designing cooling and piping systems, including component sizing, controls, and subsystem integration
- Experience supporting design reviews, construction oversight, field inspections, commissioning, testing, and technical issue resolution for facility electrical systems
- Experience coordinating field system tie-ins in a co-occupancy environment
- Ability to manage project documents through closeout and as-built documentation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Compartmented Information clearance
- Pass a pre-hire physical and pre-placement drug test
- Participate in ongoing random drug testing and potential random polygraph testing
Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical engineering and design for data-center projects
- Review and approve mechanical design documents, change orders, requisitions, calculations, studies, and specifications
- Support planning, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical systems
- Develop and review conceptual designs, scopes, specifications, estimates, schedules, and procurement packages
- Review contractor proposals and conduct design reviews
- Coordinate technical issue resolution with design, construction, operations, vendors, and maintenance stakeholders
- Identify and resolve safety, cost, schedule, quality, code-compliance, and constructability issues
