You will advise on product design, licensing, market entry, financial regulation, corporate matters, and legal risk. You will partner with business functions, manage external counsel, and build scalable legal processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of legal work experience
- Excellent academic credentials and a traineeship at a top-tier law firm
- Experience advising fintechs or financial institutions
- Knowledge of financial services and payments regulations, including MiCAR, PSD2, EMD, the Dutch Financial Supervision Act, and AML legislation
- Ability to provide business-oriented legal advice
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, compliance, and business teams
- Analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Responsibilities
- Advise product and engineering teams on legal and regulatory aspects of products
- Translate regulatory requirements into product guidance
- Develop and execute licensing and market-entry strategies
- Contribute to and oversee license applications
- Provide regulatory guidance on payments, money transmission, cryptocurrency, foreign exchange, and cross-border transactions
- Identify regulatory risks and develop mitigation solutions
- Provide legal support on corporate governance, employment, privacy, intellectual property, fundraising, and strategic transactions
- Assess and mitigate legal and business risks
- Partner with leadership, product, engineering, and growth teams
- Manage external counsel and consultants
- Build scalable legal processes and frameworks
