About the Role
You will advise on financial product design, licensing, market entry, regulation, corporate matters, and risk mitigation. You will collaborate across functions, manage external counsel, and build scalable legal processes.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Bar membership in good standing
- 7+ years of legal experience with a significant fintech or financial services background
- Knowledge of financial services and payments regulations
- Ability to provide business-oriented legal advice
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, compliance, and business teams
- Analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Responsibilities
- Advise product and engineering teams on legal and regulatory aspects of products
- Translate regulatory requirements into product guidance
- Develop and execute licensing and market-entry strategies
- Contribute to and oversee license applications
- Provide regulatory guidance on payments, money transmission, cryptocurrency, foreign exchange, and cross-border transactions
- Identify regulatory risks and develop mitigation solutions
- Provide legal support on corporate governance, employment, privacy, intellectual property, fundraising, and strategic transactions
- Assess and mitigate legal and business risks
- Partner with leadership, product, engineering, and growth teams
- Manage external counsel and consultants
- Build scalable legal processes and frameworks
