About the Role

You will provide practical legal guidance on broker-dealer regulation, digital assets, payments, privacy, and other financial services matters. You will review products and onboarding processes, monitor regulatory developments, support regulator engagement, draft legal documents, research novel questions, and manage litigation, arbitration, and other disputes.

Requirements

  • Hold a J.D. degree or foreign equivalent
  • Maintain active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Have 5 to 7 or more years of legal experience
  • Have at least 3 years focused on U.S. broker-dealer regulation
  • Know the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 FINRA rules and federal and state securities laws
  • Understand U.S. cryptoasset regulatory regimes and AML requirements
  • Advise fintechs or financial institutions
  • Deliver strategic business-oriented legal advice under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication
  • Work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Exercise strong judgment and self-motivation
  • Work comfortably with ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Advise on regulatory frameworks for financial products and services
  • Review product design marketing and customer onboarding processes
  • Advise on digital assets payments and data privacy matters
  • Apply new legal requirements and regulatory guidance to systems policies and procedures
  • Monitor developments from governmental agencies and self-regulatory organizations
  • Support engagement with regulators
  • Draft agreements disclosures policies and procedures
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical guidance
  • Manage litigation arbitration and other disputes
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and respond to claims and discovery
