About the Role
You will lead and develop a technician team while owning build execution, quality checks, and completed-system sign-off. You will support assembly and testing, turn engineering intent into build instructions, maintain documentation, organize the workshop, improve processes, and enforce safety procedures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience
- Experience leading or mentoring technicians
- Ability to interpret schematics and CAD drawings
- Ability to independently assemble complex electromechanical systems
- Mechanical, electrical, equipment, and safety knowledge
- Ability to work 5 days per week from the San Leandro headquarters
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of technicians
- Approve hours and PTO, assign work, and provide performance feedback
- Ensure builds are complete, on schedule, and meet quality standards
- Perform final inspection and sign off on completed systems
- Coach technicians and onboard new hires
- Support assembly, testing, and support of robotic systems
- Translate engineering intent into build instructions
- Develop and maintain assembly instructions and SOPs
- Organize the workshop and drive continuous-improvement initiatives
- Follow and enforce safety procedures
