About the Role
You will turn designs into working hardware by operating the workshop, building and commissioning test rigs, and supporting their daily operation. You will fabricate parts and fixtures, assemble mechanical and electrical subsystems, troubleshoot faults, review test data, and procure components.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating 3D printers, CNC machines, and workshop tooling
- Comfort with mechanical assembly and electrical build work
- Background in prototype, R&D, or low-volume build environments
- Experience with fluid systems or test instrumentation is a strong plus
Responsibilities
- Run and maintain 3D printers, CNC machines, and workshop tooling
- Create and review CAD models and produce parts, jigs, and test fixtures
- Manage tooling, consumables, and machine servicing
- Lead the mechanical build of Direct-to-Chip testing and validation rigs
- Support commissioning through leak checks, function testing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting
- Deliver mechanical and electrical modifications to existing rigs
- Build control panels and instrumentation from schematics
- Assemble mechanical subsystems to specification and tolerance
- Function-test completed builds and document results
- Operate test rigs and set up, run, and reset test configurations
- Review data and recommend iterative improvements
- Source and order rig components while managing suppliers and lead times
