About the Role

You will design credit risk policies, procedures, and strategies for lending features in Brazil. You will validate underwriting strategies, lead preventative and reactive responses to market and product changes, develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks, manage credit limits and risk-based pricing, adjust portfolio returns as new data becomes available, support budgeting and forecasting, monitor credit KPIs, identify operational inefficiencies, implement small-scale changes, and ensure strong approval and ratings for the first-line credit risk function from second-line, third-line, and regulatory stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products such as credit cards and unsecured personal loans
  • Bachelor's degree from a top university in an analytical or quantitative field such as engineering, statistics, physics, mathematics, economics, or management
  • Understanding of credit policy governance frameworks and second- and third-line defence processes
  • Track record of delivering results that exceed requirements
  • Ability to plan appropriately, meet multiple objectives, and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Knowledge of credit and behavioural scoring models, especially for retail credit products
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply
  • Understanding of the value of speed to market and the balance between elegant problem-solving and business needs
  • Master's degree
  • Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other data analysis tools
  • Willingness to learn new technology

Responsibilities

  • Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies using NPV frameworks
  • Make data-driven decisions with a focus on marginal decision-making
  • Manage credit limits, risk-based pricing, retention strategies, and over-limit policies
  • Adjust risk-return requirements and manage portfolio returns as new data becomes available
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
  • Track and communicate the performance of ongoing initiatives
  • Draw insights from initiative performance
  • Monitor credit KPIs
  • Identify operational inefficiencies
  • Manage small-scale changes within the Credit team
  • Ensure approval and good ratings for the first-line credit risk function from second-line, third-line, and regulatory stakeholders
