About the Role
You will serve as the senior credit authority alongside the Chief Credit Officer. You will design the underwriting framework, lead the underwriting and structuring of lending facilities, establish credit committee and portfolio-monitoring processes, support LP diligence and fundraising, codify the credit playbook, and hire and mentor the junior credit team as the fund grows.
Requirements
- 7+ years in private credit, direct lending, specialty finance, or leveraged finance
- Personal responsibility for underwriting and closing institutional credit transactions
- Experience at an early-stage or first-time credit fund preferred
- Experience writing credit policy from scratch and supporting LP diligence preferred
- Experience lending against media, IP, royalties, recurring digital revenue, or gaming businesses preferred
- A track record of underwriting deals, structuring facilities, and managing performance issues
- Deep knowledge of credit analysis, financial modeling, covenant design, collateral structures, and credit documentation
- Ability to engage LPs, investment committees, and founders
- A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
- MBA or CFA charter preferred
Responsibilities
- Design the credit policy, underwriting standards, rating methodology, scoring methodology, credit memo templates, and approval workflows
- Integrate payments telemetry and game-revenue data into underwriting
- Lead financial analysis, downside analysis, and recovery analysis for lending facilities
- Structure term loans, revolvers, royalty-based structures, and revenue-based structures
- Design covenants, collateral packages, borrowing bases, and pricing
- Draft and negotiate term sheets and credit documentation with borrowers and counsel
- Run the credit committee process
- Present transactions and document credit decisions
- Maintain an audit trail for credit decisions
- Establish watchlist discipline, covenant tracking, and a workout playbook
- Represent the fund in LP materials and meetings
- Own underwriting responses during LP diligence
- Support the fund’s risk-return narrative, portfolio construction guidelines, and track-record presentation
- Codify repeatable and audit-ready underwriting standards and documentation
- Hire and mentor junior credit team members
