About the Role
You will fit, tack, and weld large industrial piping and structural steel according to drawings and ASME Section IX procedures. You will prepare and align joints, support installation work, manage materials and work areas, follow safety controls, report issues, and support repairs and turnover activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industrial construction welding experience, a recognized welding apprenticeship, or equivalent military experience
- Ability to travel extensively and remain onsite during peak construction phases
- Ability to work in industrial environments, climb ladders, lift and position moderate loads, stand and walk for full shifts, and wear PPE
Responsibilities
- Fit, tack, and weld large-bore industrial piping and structural steel according to drawings and ASME Section IX welding procedures
- Lay out, cut, bevel, grind, align, and inspect joints before and after welding
- Read isometric, spool, and structural drawings and follow weld maps and material-control requirements
- Support installation of strut, supports, hangers, structural members, and equipment
- Stage, move, and inventory materials, filler metal, and tools
- Open and close work areas, including protection, fire watch, permits, cleanup, and reset activities
- Follow LOTO, PPE, hot-work, and site rules
- Report damaged material, rejected welds, unsafe conditions, and drawing conflicts
- Support punch-list, repair, and NDE hold-point work through system turnover
