About the Role
You'll lead HR strategy and delivery for Wave's team in Niger, drawing on your expertise in Niger labor law and HR policy. You'll provide expert advice to senior management on payroll, learning and development, employment law, and best practices, while developing effective employment policies in consultation with senior managers and staff. You'll lead and develop HR staff, review and improve employee programs and benefits, ensure compliance with regulations, oversee succession planning and performance reviews, champion organizational culture, manage diversity and inclusion programs, and oversee staff records and the Niger office.
Requirements
- Master's degree or professional training in business administration, HR, or a related field.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Niger labor law and HR best practices.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally at an international company.
- Work authorization in Niger.
- Change management experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing successful teams and developing processes autonomously.
Responsibilities
- Plan and create strategies to achieve HR objectives.
- Advise senior management on payroll, learning and development, employment law, HR policy, best practices, and workforce development.
- Develop employment policies with senior managers, executives, trade unions, staff, and partners.
- Lead, support, coach, and develop HR staff.
- Review and improve employee programs, staff benefits, and packages.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, professional standards, policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Oversee succession planning, organizational structure, and performance review programs.
- Build organizational culture and champion high performance.
- Create and oversee diversity, equality, and inclusion plans.
- Oversee employee training and development programs.
- Build relationships with senior managers, executives, and trade union representatives.
- Manage HR priorities, budgets, staffing resources, policies, and organizational matters.
- Maintain staff records, salary and benefits administration, and employee transactions.
- Manage the Niger office, including real estate, fleet management, and travel.
