About the Role
You will develop and implement corporate sustainability strategy and build an extensive network of high-impact carbon project developers focused on nature-based solutions. You will assess project methodologies and standards, drive procurement and advisory services including RFPs, market assessments, contract negotiation and management, and source new projects for offtake agreements. You will design standardized due diligence for project listings, take commercial and operational responsibility for partners to optimize and scale them, create thought leadership and science content, act as primary contact for international project partners, and engage in proactive networking with stakeholders and agencies.
Requirements
- Academic degree in business administration, technology, environmental management, science, engineering or comparable qualification; Master’s degree is a plus
- Expert knowledge and several years of professional experience in sustainability and carbon project development
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in carbon projects focused on nature-based solutions is a strong plus
- Understanding of Voluntary Carbon Market standards and methodologies (e.g., ICVCM-CCP, CCQI, Oxford Offsetting Principles, GHG Protocol)
- Proven skills in AFOLU carbon management, project assessment, selection, monitoring, and reporting
- Experience in sustainable forest and land management and tropical forest conservation practices
- B2B experience with strong customer and partner focus
- Fluent English; German and Spanish are a plus
- Structured, independent, detail-oriented working style
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ideally Berlin based or willing to travel frequently to Berlin; remote work possible
- Available for part-time or full-time commitment
