About the Role

You will lead and develop managers and teams covering consumer-harm areas. You will coordinate policy decisions, set mitigation strategy, prioritize resources, escalate high-severity risks, and partner with engineering, data science, product, legal, research, regulators, and external experts to implement and improve safeguards.

Requirements

  • Experience leading teams, including managers or senior specialists, in AI safety, product policy, or a related field
  • Applied familiarity with child safety, mental health and well-being, manipulation, election integrity, or related consumer harms
  • Experience collaborating across teams with distributed ownership
  • Understanding of frontier-model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and launch processes
  • Experience translating policy positions into enforceable and measurable mechanisms
  • Ability to communicate with technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
  • Judgment in ambiguous, high-consequence decisions
  • Comfort with exposure to explicit sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing content

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop managers and teams responsible for consumer harms
  • Coordinate and track policy decisions across harm areas
  • Set mitigation strategy across policies, detection, enforcement, and product interventions
  • Prioritize resources and communicate tradeoffs to leadership
  • Escalate and respond to high-severity or ambiguous consumer-harms decisions
  • Partner across the model development cycle to represent consumer-harms considerations
  • Engage external experts, civil society organizations, and regulators
  • Translate external engagement into stronger policy and enforcement
