About Nuclear Threat Initiative
The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) collaborates with governments and organizations to develop and implement solutions addressing nuclear, biological, and emerging-technology risks. Its current work includes AI-and-biosecurity policy and governance initiatives, alongside nuclear security and global health-security programs.

About the Role
You will lead the AIxBio Global Forum and its working groups, including virtual and in-person convenings. You will set agendas, design projects and partnerships, manage budgets and deliverables, conduct research and writing, and build relationships with governments, AI developers, industry, academia, and civil society. You will also prepare leadership briefings, support communications and grant work, and manage projects and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred
- At least 8 years of policy, research, or project-management experience in biosecurity, international security, global health, artificial intelligence, or international affairs
- Demonstrated success leading a complex international multi-stakeholder project from design through delivery
- Experience managing at least one direct report
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- Residence in or willingness to relocate to Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia before the start date
Responsibilities
- Lead the AIxBio Global Forum and its working groups
- Design projects and forge partnerships with trackable progress and outcome measures
- Set working-group agendas on AI capabilities in the life sciences, safeguards, and best practices
- Manage the Forum budget, work plan, and deliverables
- Build and sustain relationships with governments, AI developers, industry, academia, and civil society
- Develop biosecurity and biotechnology governance initiatives addressing AI-enabled biological risks
- Lead research and writing on practical risk-reduction approaches across the bioscience and biotechnology R&D lifecycle
- Manage projects, budgets, and staff to meet strategic objectives
- Draft internal leadership memos and briefing documents
- Translate complex subject matter into accessible outreach content
- Assist with grant proposals and reports
