About the Role

You will build and lead the manufacturing function, operationalize a production facility, and establish the processes, organization, equipment, and safety practices needed for production. You will partner with engineering and supply chain, manage NPI handoffs, improve manufacturability and yield, and oversee manufacturing documentation and compliance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience
• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
• Experience standing up and operationalizing a production facility
• Experience bringing complex electromechanical systems from prototype to production
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, rigging, or heavy machinery
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, or GD&T principles
• Experience sourcing and qualifying suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Ability to work 4-5 days per week from the San Leandro HQ
• Ability to travel approximately 20%

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and grow the manufacturing team
• Align manufacturing strategy with company goals and roadmap
• Operationalize the production facility, including readiness, equipment, workflows, safety, and staffing
• Build and maintain manufacturing engineering capabilities
• Own the NPI process and development-to-production handoffs
• Partner with supply chain to reduce COGS through DFM feedback, process optimization, and yield improvement
• Establish manufacturing documentation, organizational design, BOMs, drawings, part qualification, and supplier quality processes
• Represent manufacturing to stakeholders and own EHS compliance and safety culture
