About the Role
You will own the legal function end to end and establish its processes and frameworks. You will draft and negotiate derivatives documentation commercial agreements index and data licenses and platform terms. You will define regulatory positions manage corporate legal matters and coordinate outside counsel across derivatives structured finance and corporate work.
Requirements
- JD and active U.S. law license
- 2+ years of legal practice
- Experience in law firm and in-house environments
- Depth in derivatives and commodities or structured finance and securities
- Ability to give clear plain-English legal answers under deadlines
- Judgment about when to decide and when to engage outside counsel
- Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills
- Experience with exchanges clearing houses benchmark administrators or trading venues
- Familiarity with datacenter cloud or compute infrastructure contracting
- Experience establishing a legal function at an early-stage company
- Exposure to new asset classes or products ahead of settled regulatory guidance
- Fluency with AI tooling in legal workflow
Responsibilities
- Own derivatives documentation for compute swaps
- Build and maintain the benchmark governance framework
- Negotiate index and data licensing agreements
- Develop SPV issuer-level offering and distribution documentation
- Own commercial contracting with partners and tenants
- Define regulatory positions across the product line
- Run corporate legal matters including financings equity governance employment IP and privacy
- Manage outside counsel and legal budgets
