About the Role
You will step into a General Counsel-level role covering corporate legal strategic advisory and treasury and traditional finance matters. You will oversee legal operations advise senior leadership on initiatives and product launches handle corporate commercial employment and operational matters and support governance and compliance. You will also lead treasury-related legal work including trading documentation and derivatives agreements and represent Legal at Board meetings when required.
Requirements
- Significant experience at General Counsel or senior legal leadership level
- Web3 or crypto legal experience combined with traditional finance legal experience
- Expertise in regulatory employment product financial and commercial or intellectual property law
- Experience managing or overseeing a legal team
- Experience advising on corporate structuring entity formation or spin-outs
- Comfort representing legal at Board level and communicating with senior executives
- Ability to work independently in a remote globally distributed organization
- Working-hours overlap with a European-based team
- Availability to start on short notice and support a structured handover
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal direction on major initiatives
- Oversee and manage the legal team
- Advise on regulatory and structural considerations for new products and spin-outs
- Advise senior leadership and key executives
- Lead legal work for treasury operations including trading documentation and derivatives agreements
- Provide day-to-day counsel across corporate commercial employment and operational matters
- Support Product Growth and Operations with legal and compliance planning
- Maintain legal policies controls and governance practices
- Represent Legal at Board meetings
