About the Role
You will lead the legal function and venture operations, providing counsel on legal transactions, drafting and negotiating investment documents, managing contract approvals and closings, overseeing venture workflows, tracking investment metrics, supporting investor relations and capital raising, driving strategic planning, coordinating cross-border collaboration, ensuring governance and compliance, and managing a small team of legal and venture operations professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and JD
- Admission to the California Bar
- 10+ years of professional experience in law or a related field
- Familiarity with venture capital, startup, or technology sectors
- Fluency in English and Korean
- Experience leading, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams
- Communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to bridge high-level strategy and tactical execution
Responsibilities
- Serve as Head of Legal and provide counsel and oversight for all legal transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate term sheets, investment agreements, and equity documents
- Manage the internal contract approval process and coordinate closings
- Manage legal transactions with portfolio companies after deal closure
- Review commercial contracts
- Coordinate venture workflows and track investment and exit metrics
- Streamline processes across deal sourcing, diligence, investment execution, and portfolio management
- Prepare investor relations and capital-raising materials
- Define annual investment priorities, OKRs, and portfolio construction strategies
- Coordinate with Samsung headquarters and global business units on strategic objectives and partnerships
- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks, capitalization protocols, and reporting requirements
- Manage a team of venture operations and legal professionals
