About the Role
You will build and run the operating infrastructure of a private credit fund from formation through first close and beyond. You will work with counsel on fund structure and governing documents, select and manage service providers, run capital calls, distributions, LP onboarding, KYC/AML, valuation, NAV, reporting, compliance, and audit readiness. You will document the operating playbook and build and mentor the operations function as the fund scales.
Requirements
- 7+ years in fund operations, fund CFO, or fund controllership roles at private credit or other private capital funds
- Experience taking at least one private fund from formation through first close
- Deep knowledge of LPA terms, fund administration, capital call mechanics, and ILPA reporting standards
- Knowledge of leverage facilities, borrowing bases, loan administration, and asset-level reporting preferred
- Experience managing fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, banking or custody providers, and compliance vendors
- Strong documentation and controls discipline
- Commercial judgment in provider selection, fee negotiation, and build-versus-outsource decisions
- Ability to explain fund mechanics to investors, borrowers, and leadership
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- CPA, CFA charter, or MBA preferred
Responsibilities
- Drive fund formation with external fund counsel
- Own the LPA terms, economics, and governance mechanics from an operator’s perspective
- Select and manage the fund administrator, auditor, tax advisors, banking or custody providers, and compliance vendors
- Negotiate provider scopes and fees
- Run capital calls, distributions, LP onboarding, KYC/AML, expense management, and cash movement controls
- Own valuation policy and NAV oversight
- Administer borrowing-base mechanics and leverage facilities
- Build quarterly reporting, capital account statements, and LP communications infrastructure
- Coordinate DDQ responses and operational due diligence readiness
- Establish valuation, allocation, conflicts, ESG, and AML policies
- Coordinate regulatory filings and audits
- Document processes, controls, owners, and audit trails
- Build and mentor the junior operations team
- Integrate operations with finance and legal teams
