About the Role
You will own the full engineering roadmap and execution for the product suite infrastructure. You will make long-term architecture decisions across smart contracts, infrastructure, and engineering processes; establish platform abstractions; review and approve design and architecture documents; drive end-to-end delivery from design through launch and iteration; implement and enforce planning, estimation, incident response, and post-mortem processes; ensure systems meet SLAs, security standards, and regulatory requirements; hire, mentor, and develop engineers and engineering managers; design leveling and growth paths; collaborate with Product and Developer Relations to deliver APIs, SDKs, documentation, and integration tooling; engage with strategic customers to support deep integrations and scaling; and partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Go-To-Market, and Finance as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- At least 3 years in engineering leadership roles
- Proven track record leading teams in payments or fintech infrastructure
- Proven experience building and operating large-scale backend systems
- Deep technical problem-solving ability enabling review of any design document
- Familiarity with agentic coding and modern AI-assisted development tools
- Ability to hire, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with developer platforms including APIs, SDKs, integrations, and observability
Responsibilities
- Own the full engineering roadmap and execution

- Establish platform abstractions and boundaries
- Review and approve engineering design and architecture documents
- Propose product and infrastructure solutions proactively
- Drive end-to-end delivery from design through launch and iteration
- Implement and enforce engineering processes including planning, estimation, incident response, and post-mortems
- Ensure systems meet SLA, security, and regulatory requirements
- Lead and develop engineers and engineering managers
- Design leveling, growth paths, feedback, and review systems
- Coordinate recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding for engineering
- Collaborate to deliver APIs, SDKs, documentation, and sandbox environments
- Engage with strategic customers to support integrations and scaling
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Go-To-Market, and Finance
- Represent engineering in board and investor conversations when needed
