About the Role
You will lead and develop multiple platform squads, manage cross-squad dependencies, and drive the technical roadmap. You will own and refine engineering processes, facilitate agile ceremonies, and oversee task prioritization in JIRA. You will ensure delivery of robust data pipelines and blockchain integrations, improve operational metrics, and occasionally contribute hands-on to solve critical technical challenges.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience
- 3+ years in a senior leadership role managing multiple teams or squads
- Proven experience managing ~15 engineers within a larger 50+ engineer organisation
- Strong background in system architecture data engineering and infrastructure management
- Experience using JIRA for task management and prioritization
- Experience defining and managing roadmaps and aligning them with business objectives
- Deep understanding and application of agile methodologies including Scrum
- Ability to monitor and improve team performance using KPIs such as velocity and cycle time
- Familiarity with scalable architecture patterns microservices and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with data pipeline technologies APIs and DevOps tools such as Kubernetes Docker and Terraform
- Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and cloud-native tools
- Excellent communication collaboration and leadership skills
- Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor engineers and engineering leads across multiple squads
- Build a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes quality and accountability
- Set clear goals and provide regular feedback to ensure team alignment
- Own and refine team processes and facilitate agile ceremonies
- Oversee task management and prioritization in JIRA
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and manage roadmaps and deliverables
- Drive the technical vision and roadmap for platform, data, DevEx, and DevOps
- Ensure delivery of scalable high-performance data pipelines including blockchain integrations
- Advocate and enforce best practices in software development and DevOps
- Monitor and improve key performance metrics such as lead time, uptime, pipeline latency and velocity
- Ensure platform components meet security compliance and scalability requirements
- Occasionally contribute hands-on to resolve critical technical issues
