About the Role

You will lead, mentor, and grow a cross-disciplinary engineering organization. You will align engineering initiatives with the roadmap, shape product design and operating processes, scale work from R&D through production, improve management practices, and represent the engineering function to stakeholders.

Requirements

5+ years of engineering leadership experience
Experience overseeing multiple end-to-end development cycles
Experience shipping complex electromechanical systems
Ability to balance hands-on problem solving with organizational priorities
Verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal relationship management skills
Ability to work 4-5 days per week from the San Leandro HQ
Ability to travel approximately 10% to field deployment sites

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-disciplinary engineering team
Align engineering initiatives with company goals and roadmap
Drive product design and engineering team structure
Scale engineering operations from R&D through manufacturing and full production
Represent engineering to employees, customers, executives, and investors
Establish and improve performance reviews, planning, and organizational design
Implement development, testing, and documentation best practices
Learn emerging technologies and industry best practices
