About the Role
You will set new hardware product direction and manage products throughout their lifecycle. You will translate business needs into supplier specifications, evaluate OEM and ODM partners, monitor component obsolescence, manage BOM and PCN impacts, coordinate certification, oversee suppliers and quality issues, and keep development, delivery, and compliance activities on plan.
Requirements
- Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in hardware product management, product engineering, or strategic sourcing
- Experience collaborating with OEM or ODM suppliers and engineering teams
- Practical experience in component lifecycle management and BOM analysis
- Ability to organize business requirements into hardware technical requirements
- Understanding of hardware manufacturing processes and quality management
- Basic knowledge of international hardware regulations, certifications, and compliance
- Ability to work in English
Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate OEM and ODM partners
- Translate business and technical needs into supplier evaluation specifications
- Propose products and solutions based on cost, performance, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor component lifecycles and identify supply discontinuation and obsolescence risks
- Assess the impact of EOL and PCN notifications on product BOMs
- Advance risk mitigations including last-time buys, alternative component qualification, and design changes
- Coordinate long-lead component plans and project deliverables
- Coordinate testing and certification requirements and schedules
- Evaluate supplier performance for quality, delivery, and compliance
- Review nonconformance reports and corrective actions
- Investigate nonconforming products and prevent recurrence of quality and supply issues
