About the Role
You will lead government and institutional engagement across priority jurisdictions, build relationships with government and multilateral stakeholders, and represent the organization in policy discussions. You will develop engagement strategies, prepare evidence submissions and briefing materials, coordinate policy events and convenings, track global AI policy developments, and connect policy work across internal functions. You will also support senior leaders during government engagements and travel internationally for meetings and events.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in a related discipline, or equivalent 7+ years of work experience.
- Significant experience in government relations, public policy, or international affairs.
- Experience building relationships with senior government and multilateral stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong writing skills and experience producing briefing materials, evidence submissions, or position papers for senior audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams against tight external deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for government meetings and events.
- Stakeholder management and project management skills.
- Ability to coordinate work across teams and build stakeholder engagement and tracking processes.
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong understanding of political sensitivities.
Responsibilities
- Develop engagement strategies for priority jurisdictions and institutions.
- Build relationships with government partners and multilateral bodies.
- Recommend jurisdiction-specific thematic priorities.
- Develop proposals to formalize collaboration with government entities.
- Represent PAI in international and jurisdiction-specific policy discussions.
- Organize multi-stakeholder convenings with policymakers and partners.
- Lead submissions to government calls for evidence.
- Translate research and data into policy positions and briefing documents.
- Design and deliver listening sessions and convenings for policymakers.
- Support engagement strategies for government events, summits, and multilateral fora.
- Produce event engagement strategies, preparation packages, talking points, and meeting plans.
- Track, measure, and report on policy convenings and government engagement.
- Prepare briefing books and verbal briefings for senior leadership.
- Accompany senior leaders on US and international government engagements.
- Monitor and analyze global legislative texts, AI policies, and frameworks.
- Maintain mechanisms for tracking and sharing policy developments.
- Brief internal teams ahead of key policy events.
- Coordinate policy work with Programs and Research, Partnerships and Philanthropy, and Communications.
