About the Role
You will conduct policy research, draft legislative language and policy products, and support legislative initiatives. You will monitor congressional activity, maintain legislative resources and databases, respond to policy inquiries, and manage work across fast-paced legislative cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2–4 years of relevant experience
- Interest in United States national security policy and congressional legislative processes
- Research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to draft concise legislative and policy materials
- Familiarity with congressional procedures and legislative drafting preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Resume and letter of interest
Responsibilities
- Draft legislative language, amendments, issue briefs, and policy memoranda
- Support legislative proposals and policy initiatives
- Maintain the legislative-provisions library with version control
- Monitor congressional hearings, markups, floor proceedings, and legislative developments
- Support Policy Help Desk and Action Center inquiries
- Track legislative proposals and congressional engagement
