About the Role
You will bring deep expertise in the German Investment Tax Act and Income Tax Act to oversee the accurate calculation, withholding, remittance and reporting of German withholding tax, ensuring alignment with the latest BMF circulars. You'll provide day-to-day tax technical analysis and opinions, working closely with Product and Engineering to continuously improve existing tax processes. You'll oversee tax reporting cycles across daily, monthly and annual periods, including delivering Jahressteuerbescheinigungen, Vorabpauschale, and regulatory filings such as FSAK, CRS and MiKaDiv. You'll take ownership of automated tax reporting tools like CPB Sectras, proactively monitoring outputs and resolving operational discrepancies, especially around complex corporate actions. You'll directly handle intricate tax-related operational cases and own ad-hoc tax operational projects such as MiKaDiv and FASTER.
Requirements
- Deep functional understanding of the German Investment Tax Act (InvStG) and Income Tax Act (EStG)
- Experience with Kapitalertragsteuer (KESt) calculation, withholding, remittance and reporting
- Experience identifying and handling German tax implications on corporate actions
- Understanding of MiKaDiv and other German tax regulations
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into executable operational steps
- Track record working with banking tax engines and data providers such as CPB Sectras or WM Datenservice
- Fluency in German and good command of English
Responsibilities
- Provide German tax technical analysis and opinions
- Improve existing tax processes together with Product and Engineering
- Oversee and participate in tax reporting cycles across daily, monthly and annual periods
- Deliver Jahressteuerbescheinigungen, Vorabpauschale, and regulatory filings like FSAK, CRS and MiKaDiv
- Manage the performance of automated tax reporting tools such as CPB Sectras
- Monitor system outputs and resolve operational discrepancies or errors
- Handle and resolve complex tax-related operational cases such as intricate corporate actions
- Own and execute ad-hoc tax operational projects such as MiKaDiv and FASTER
