About the Role
You will own the Cards business from strategy and P&L through product delivery, growth, and performance. You will develop virtual and physical card products, optimize customer journeys and unit economics, manage infrastructure providers and integrations, lead engineering delivery, oversee key metrics and incidents, and drive acquisition, activation, retention, spending, and profitability.
Requirements
- Strong end-to-end experience with card products
- Experience with issuing, processing, BaaS, or card infrastructure
- Experience launching or scaling a card program
- Strong understanding of card unit economics
- Ability to model customer margin, transaction economics, issuance costs, and LTV
- Experience negotiating directly with card providers
- Experience managing dependencies on external providers
- Strong product and commercial mindset
- Experience owning revenue or P&L is highly preferred
- Strong analytical and data-driven approach
- Technical literacy and ability to work directly with engineering teams
- Experience managing product or engineering teams
- Experience in fintech, neobanking, payments, crypto cards, wallets, or exchanges is highly relevant
Responsibilities
- Own the Cards business strategy, P&L, budget, roadmap, and execution
- Define and manage card program economics
- Own TPV, active cards, customer spending, retention, and monetization
- Build financial models covering revenue, issuance costs, processing costs, customer margin, and LTV
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and customer engagement
- Present strategy, performance, and key decisions to C-level stakeholders
- Own the card customer journey from onboarding and issuance through activation and everyday spending
- Develop virtual and physical card products
- Own subscription, cashback, and other card-related mechanics
- Improve card activation rates and customer spending
- Develop simplified onboarding and KYC flows with Compliance
- Improve the card-related customer experience and resolve friction points
- Manage relationships with issuing, processing, BaaS, and other card infrastructure providers
- Manage provider integrations and operational dependencies
- Negotiate commercial terms with providers
- Reduce vendor lock-in and strengthen resilience against provider changes
- Ensure reliable card operations while scaling
- Manage critical provider incidents with engineering
- Optimize the unit economics of every active card
- Track customer profitability, card costs, transaction economics, retention, and LTV
- Design product mechanics that encourage continued card spending
- Partner with Growth and Marketing on acquisition, activation, and retention initiatives
- Lead the engineering team responsible for Cards
- Work with the Tech Lead on architecture and delivery
- Own priorities, backlog, releases, and key incidents
- Hire and develop team members when needed
- Build a fast, data-driven execution culture
- Apply AI and automation to product development, analytics, specifications, QA, and operations
